ROSEMARY
Wow - it is hard to tell from this picture....but this rosemary is close to 5 feet tall, and about 2-3 feet wide! Full of flowers, I just keep picking it and using it in various dishes - for the last 5 years now! Lately, there has been a hummingbird flying around the flowers - will try to get a picture one of these days.
We now have our 4 raised vegetable beds happening - have planted swiss chard, kale, 3 kinds of lettuce, radishes, carrots, beets, green onions, chives, broccoli and red cabbage. There are tomato, and butternut squash starter plants sitting in the window sill in the house until the weather warms up.
These bachelor buttons are lovely......started out with 2 plants......and oh my goodness....they self seed all over the place. And they have a really strong root system - I have been giving away tons of these plants, and still there are too many! There will also be a spectacular show of Columbine.....soon on its way.....as well as many other lovely spring and early summer flowers. I'm itching to get back into the garden, but this past week there has been nothing but rain. What is growing and planted in your gardens right now?
Unfortunately the snow just melted in mine, all I have is weeds! Over the next two weeks I will be getting ready to plant, then I can put in the cold vegetables, spinach, onions, peas, lettuce and radishes. Nothing else until the middle of May. At 6500 ft. we have a short growing season.
Karen - can't wait for summer, when the fun in the garden really begins! Ina
