Have you tried this new truRoots Sprouted Rice and Quinoa Blend? It is heavenly! It has: organic sprouted brown rice, organic sprouted red rice, organic quinoa and organic wild rice. There is really not a recipe to share today...just wanted to share some love. Also, there is no paid advertisement here - I just get super excited when something is really really good - so I must share.
I had to give this rice blend a try. After using truRoots Sprouted Bean Trio, their truRoots Organic Quinoa and their truRoots Penne Pasta....I am sold!
I love using the Sprouted Bean Trio in my rice and bean salad. Plus it is great added to soups as well.
The pasta has one of the best textures I have ever tasted in a gluten free pasta - plus it cooks in 7 minutes. Here is a recipe using this lovely pasta - Gluten Free Clam Alfredo Pasta.
Back to the Rice Quinoa Blend. I added a dollop of butter and a drizzle of olive oil to a pan on low heat. To that, I added 1 minced shallot, salt and pepper to saute about 4-5 minutes. Then you add in 1 3/4 cup of water, bring to a boil and add in 1 cup of the Rice Quinoa Blend. Turn down to low and simmer about 35-40 minutes or until all of the liquid is absorbed. Remove from the heat and allow to sit for 10 minutes.
We had this lovely rice blend with meatloaf and steamed vegetables - so tasty...a must try.
Yup...I am sold on truRoots organic rice/bean blends. Please do try them...you will not be disappointed. There is another new Sprouted Wild Rice recipe underway....
I've never heard of sprouted rice.... But the blend looks delicious. I used to buy red rice when we lived in Ireland - don't see that here, either LOL
Katie - these rice blends are really delicious...it is something new to me too.
My hubby would especially love these, Ina! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
