This is her Royal Highness Princess: Miss Lily. What is she waiting for? Well, the dog's water bowl is only half full. Absolutely unacceptable. Miss Lily will sit like this for 15 minutes, erect stature, questioning eyes....Hello....do you realize I have been waiting, do you, do you???
Then the other day, I washed our dog's rug, which lays on the carpet in DH's office. It is Tara's carpet, plain and simple. Miss Lily got very excited....Miss Lily has a carpet fetish:
I tried to lay down the carpet....she would not budge:
Dang! Oh dear... now she is hunkering down:
I can tell by her eyes she is saying "mine, mine, mine, mine......MINE!
What can I say? We are ruled by our beloved critters in this household.
Well that, and delicious gluten free food - can't ever forget delicious food. After all this is a food and gardening blog...I could never forget that!
This was a dressing I bought on our Getaway to use as a marinade.
Well, DH bought some Organic Ketchup, as I did not have any homemade Ketchup. I combined 1/2 cup of this vinaigrette with 1 Tblsp. of the Organic Ketchup, and marinated the chicken drumsticks for about 5 hours.
Meanwhile, I also decided to roast some Carrots and Beets in olive oil, fresh Thyme, salt and pepper - for a side dish:
Here's how I prepared the veggies:
Our garden fresh beets (yummm),
Farmer's market baby carrots, sliced in half,
A good sprinkling of Olive oil
Four or five sprigs of fresh Thyme
Himalayan Salt and fresh cracked pepper
Baked in a 350 degree oven for 50-60 minutes, tossing occasionally.
Here is the baked chicken (I forgot to take a picture of the roasted veggies - dang!)
Plus we steamed the beet greens, steamed baby potatoes...dinner was oh so yum!
Meanwhile, we had one happy puppy girl...her rug was finally returned to it's rightful owner!
Now onto some seriousness. And I do mean seriousness, love in it's purity. If you love animals this is a must see. Seriously a must see. This movie is based on a true story...I want to own it...it is a movie that will forever live in my heart...
Ok, now here's the thing... I have visitors due in a few minutes. And I watched the video clip. So, now I have to explain to my visitors why I have been crying... thanks.
Yoshi has a water bowl in our bedroom. Which he will drink out of only if the water is fresh - as in, poured as soon as he asks for it. And he does ask, a high-pitched squeak, over and over, until he gets his wish... usually at around 1am.
Why he has a water bowl in the bedroom is probably a future post... 🙂
Our cats (and dogs) are very lucky they have such faithful servants...
Sorry Janet...just wait till you watch the movie....get out the kleenex...and it is based on a true story!!! And yes, we are faithful servants in this house too! 🙂
