I never thought I would ever be taking pictures of dish sets. But these are sooo gorgeous, I just had too. It has been about 1 1/2 years of searching for a beautiful, everyday, set of dishes. I knew I wanted Stoneware, particularly after years of using other dish sets that easily chipped or broke. In my search, I found many lovely sets, but given the expense, I did not want to just like them, I had to love them. And love them I do!
It is hard to tell from this picture, but the dishes have a "crackled" glaze, which they term as "reactive glazing" and the outer edge is a dark brown, that appears more like pottery- they are heavy, and solid feeling.
The salad side plates are a bit larger than most, which I love, and the bowls are deep and rounded - love that too! I did not photograph the coffee mugs, but they too feel solid and comfortable. I am not sure how well these will photograph food, but I thought I could always buy a few cheaper white dishes for photos. And guess what? After searching many top quality brand names and stores - I found these at Costco of all places! Actually, I had stopped looking for dishes all together because I just could not find any I loved. Funny how that works out. Oh, and they also had a lovely turquoise/blue colored set as well. Sure glad I had stopped looking for dishes! What makes you happy in the kitchen?
These are beautiful! My daughter registered for the same ones when she got married last year and she has loved them, sounds like you already do! Congratulations
Thanks Karen, love love them I do! Ina
P.S. You asked what makes me happy in the kitchen? Well with three kids home all day a clean one is all it takes to make me smile 🙂
Aww, I hear you, I remember the days...hope you have a dishwasher, Ina
These are beautiful! I love them! Someday I'd like new dishes too...when the kids are old enough to not break them!
Thanks Erin! I have to say these are really solid, more so than any other I have looked at. We sure do love em'! Ina
