This is what we woke up to this morning - February 23, 2011. This is looking out my kitchen window fortunately with a steaming hot cup of coffee in my hands. Each winter, these past few years, we have been getting more and more snow. I can remember growing up and not seeing any snow year after year. So now, it is with awe and wonder that I question Old Man Weather - what is up?
Here on the West Coast we are more familiar with gray rainy winter days. As I sit and contemplate the lovely scenery around me, I can hear squeals of laughter from the neighborhood children. Snow men are being built, snowballs are flying through the air, and sleds are being pulled out of garages filled with cobwebs. All of the neighborhood children are filled with joy and laughter - a lovely sound to wake up to.
Just the other day I was contemplating digging over the raised beds and adding in manure - glad I have waited.
Think I will make a big pot of homemade soup, or a hearty beef stew, hunker down with a good book, stay warm and cozy and enjoy this lovely winter wonderland.
Ina, those pictures are beautiful! I like admiring them from afar...for here I have been enjoying temps hovering around 70 degrees. Lovely now...but you'll "hear" me complaining about the triple digit heat later. Enjoy the snow while you can! 🙂
We are enjoying the snow for now, but oh, what I would not give for 70 degree temperature right now! I am so jealous!
HMMM! you notice we are never happy with are own weather!? Erin the snow is a beauty!! but I would love to sit on my patio with one of my mom's salad's in my bathing suit! snow should stay on the mountain. 🙂
Thanks Darlin' - me too! I want me some of Erin's 70 degree weather!
